Meryl's New Gown

Went to Bugis Junction for Retail Therapy for MYSELF but still ended up buying this beautiful gown that I couldn't resist at 70% off. It cost me only $20.70 for this gown that Meryl loved to bits.
She tried it on and took tons of pictures in it. She was the one looking for different places to take pictures at, such as the stool, the staircase etc. She was simply thrilled with it.

She needed very little prompting and was smiling so very sweetly in Every picture!

Anyone getting married?
Here's a ready flower girl for you!!

Australia-Snippets of Perth Holiday in June

Day 1: Arrived at Perth Ariport at 5pm. Meet up with Grandpa Tom and drove to town for dinner. Then went to Yanchap National Park to see the wild kangaroos.
At Grandpa Tom's place. The kids were thrilled with the real fireplace. We quickly changed and made our bed whilst the kids drank fresh milk in front of the fireplace.

Day 2: Yanchap Beach, Yanchap National Park and Jooduloop Shopping Mall

Kyle defied our instructions and got his shoes all wet when the waves came in.

Saw many wild kangaroos again at Yanchap National Park. Went to see the Koalas but it started to drizzle for a while.

Had a good time at the park then went to have lunch.

Cooked dinner at Tom's place; Sausages and salad for the kids, steak and soup and salad for the adults.

Day 3: went to freemantle but discovered that the market was open only on Fri and weekends.
Went to the harbour to see fishermen at work.

We decided to go Freemantle Prison for their tour. It was only a 5 min drive there from the narbour and to our surprise, Meryl was fast asleep in the car and nobody had noticed! We had no choice but to carry her as she was already dead to the world! We paid for our entry and quickly ran in to join the tour which had just started. It was really educational and scary at the same time. The prison had a history that dated all the way back to the 1800s and we saw the gallows too. The kids posing in the prison. They had a chance to see how the prisoners were locked up in their cell with nothing more than a bed, a table and a pail.
Went back to Perth and search for a Vietnamese restaurant for dinner. Stayed at Aaron's Hotel for the night.
Day 4 : Toodyay, Victoria Plains, Boshack Eco-Adventure tour.

Drove whole morning and finally got Boshack, a bushland in the middle of Victoria Plains. Had BBQ lunch with a group of China Tour operators who was there as part of their training. We then took a trailer and went to see their eco farm.

This is a freshwater spring just in front of our Humpy( fully-lined tent).

The children were thrilled with the vast land and chasing after the sheep. we saw how the sheep were rounded back into their pen. The kids fed the goats and kangaroos before we went into the bushland filled with melaleuca trees.

Chris explaining to us the history of the bushland and the life of the aborigines.

Meryl and Kyle were peeling off the bark of the melaleuca trees which is said to have medicinal properties. We tried playing the didgeridoos and then went to catch yabbies from the ponds and then had billy tea and some scones with thick fresh cream! Yum.
That night we were treated to a sumptuous dinner of BBQ leg of lamb, roast pumpkin, brocoli, baked potaotes and then dessert.

This was our humpy for the night. It was an experience for the kids and we retired that night at about 8 as it was already pitch dark and there was nothing else to do. In the middle of the night, Meryl wanted to pee so we went out and I saw the most fantastic view in the sky-starlit sky. When I asked Meryl to look, she glanced up and then said, "I want to go in already." Btw, it was freezing cold in the night. We had a scare in the middle of the night, I heard some knocks and scratching and i thought rats had managed to get in. Woke Tim up and we searched high and low trying to see where the sound was from. Finally we went back to sleep. In the morning we were told it was probably some wild kangaroos.

This is the surreal scene that greeted us when we stepped out of the tent in the morning (this and many more, but too lazy to upload). Everything was so fresh and clean and beautiful. We quickly changed and went to Gripthorne farm for our Farm Safari. Christine led us part of the way and we reached there about 9ish.

We travelled in this tractor for the

Me, Meryl, Kyle and my bicycle

Been ferrying my girl back from school whenever I get the chance to knock off early. She simply loves being on the back seat of the bicycle and opften will ask me to go 'faster, faster!'. Sometimes she will ask me if I am going to bring her to school. Unfortunately, Auntie Jo is afraid to pillion anyone on the bike.

On Saturdays, she looks forward to going to her ballet school as there are 2 slopes and she likes 'the very long and steep one'. She will go 'Whee' as we go down the slop.

On some days after work when I return home about 5ish, I will bring both of them on the bike and we will cycle 2 rounds round the open field with the ride ending at the playground where there is a reasonably steep slope and a gentler one before we head for home. We spent time not only enjoying each other but also going through what happened in school. It is great bonding time for the 3 of us.

All in all, this is a good buy and I wished I had done it earlier.

Little Flower Girl 12/04

The Beautiful Bride, Vanessa and her flower girl cum guardian angel, Meryl.
The happy flower girl spinning round and round ....
She has been soooo excited about being a flower girl... and rehearsed countless times at home, at mrt and at the church..
Here she is praying for the marriage to be blessed...
The 2 flower girls, Chloe and Meryl who became good friends instantaneously...
And she refusing to sit with me in church but wanting to sit with Jie Jie Chloe.
Look at her lips....she has lip gloss on them...which I had to reapply countless times at her request...all for the sake of looking pretty!! She even applied eye-shadow before she left the house...sigh...

She was amazed by the HUGE Wedding cake at Four Season's Hotel during the dinner and she sat through the dinner from 8.00 -10.30 pm. She was still aawake at 11.10 when we reached home, unable to sleep after all the excitement. Finally at 12 am, she got a scolding from me, cried and fell asleep! I was totally exhausted!!!!
